announces the 2008 winner of our children's art contest Nicole Carter |
| Nicole Carter is 12 years old and is a 7th grader in Kent, WA. She plays clarinet in the school's concert and jazz bands, and her curriculum includes math and English honors classes. She plays competitive-level soccer and basketball nearly year-round, and greatly enjoys reading and writing, particularly poetry. Among her passions are animals, science and the environment; she's quite interested in doing what she can to save the earth through reducing, re-using and recycling. Nicole loves coming to Mossyrock to visit her grandfather, Frank Carter. Nicole has yet to catch a fish on Swofford Pond, but hopes this will be her year! Nicole's winning design, pictured above, will be featured on our 2009 Mossyrock Blueberry Festival T shirts, and other souvenir items. The community voted on the design, and Nicole's design received the most votes. We think it depicts a sense of community togetherness, and helping each other just like the spirit of the Mossyrock Community. Congratulations Nicole, and thank you to all participants in this contest. |
